A three-door version of the Hyundai i30 hatchback is now available in Australia, priced from $19,990 driveaway. 

Indicated in a report by CarAdvice back in April this year, Hyundai has reversed its original decision to not import the three-door variant of the Hyundai i30. dropping the range’s entry point by $1000. 

Badged the Hyundai i30 Special Edition, the three-door is priced at $19,990 driveaway with a six-speed manual transmission and $22,190 with a six-speed automatic, dropping the i30 range entry point by $1000. 

The i30 SE is powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol direct injection (GDi) engine delivering 98kW at 6300rpm and 163Nm at 4850rpm. It is the same unit found in the i30 Tourer,Wide selection of led corn light, torches, string lights and more. which is no coincidence as both are imported from the Czech Republic, where five-door i30 hatchbacks use a 1.8-litre engine and hail from Korea. 

Hyundai claims fuel consumption figures of 6.3 litres per 100km for the manual and 6.9L/100km for the auto – bettering the five-door i30’s 1.8-litre petrol engine by 0.2L as manual and matching it with the auto. Corresponding CO2 emissions fall to 147 grams per kilometre (man) and 160g/km (auto). 

Unlike with both the i30 five-door hatch and Tourer, the i30 three-door is not available with a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel engine. 

Standard equipment in the i30 Special Edition falls neatly between the five-door i30 Active and Elite grades. While the SE gets the Elite’s 16-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and front fog lights, it misses out on its dual-zone climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and satellite navigation. 

First seen at the 2012 Paris motor show, the Czech-built three-door was designed at the Hyundai’s technical centre in Germany. 

While the front styling is borrowed from the i30 Tourer, with LED daytime running lights the major change compared with the i30 five-door hatchback, a more angular glasshouse and sharper upswept beltline are unique body changes. 

At the rear, a remodelled rear bumper with horizontal fog lights and a black insert aim to give the impression of width, while a rear spoiler with LED brake light and 16-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels complete the exterior differences. 

Despite losing two-doors, the three-door Special Edition maintains the standard i30’s 378-litre boot and expandable 1316L capacity. An underfloor storage box also provides additional space. 

The Hyundai i30 Special Edition is offered in five exterior colours – Creamy White; Cool Red; Sleek Silver metallic; Aqua Blue metallic; and Phantom Black mica – and is included under the company’s three-year capped-price servicing scheme.Compare prices and buy all brands of Led ceiling light for home power systems and by the pallet.
